Twitter

On the train back to London on Sunday I watched live as Stephen Fry suspended his Twitter account following criticisms over remarks he made towards women's enjoyment of sex. His frustration is understandable, but I struggle to see why he has pulled out all the stops and said 'bye bye' to his Twitter account, especially since the majority of his followers are those not critical of his comments. I tweeted a reply to the final message - 'not for good?!' - which proves that he wasn't having it all bad.

Later tonight America will vote in the midterm elections, where the Republicans will most likely regain Congress. I won't go into it. Instead, take a look at what my boss showed me: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/us/politics/2010-twitter-candidates.html - a Twitter Traffic Tracker tracing activity around Senate candidates. It's class and this sort of thing should definitely be put to more use around the world and across other areas.

The above are examples of the brilliance that is Twitter. Fry will come back because he's fully aware of this. If he doesn't, then he's gone mad...
